Top comedy movies

There’s nothing better than a good comedy to get you out of that bad mood. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be dark and gritty like Batman v Superman – just anything with jokes will do the trick! Here are 5 Hollywood comedies coming out in the next few months that look hilarious.

Bad Moms

This movie is about three moms, who work full time and also have to take care of their children. They are tired of the ways they are treated by society and make a pact to spend one night a week being bad mothers. So they drink, swear, yell and abandon their children in order to prove that they can be just as fun as everyone else. This is a light-hearted comedy for those who love the company of other adults or for those looking for an escape from reality.

The plot may not be original but it does keep you entertained with its humourous dialogue and plot twists throughout. It's funny, heartwarming and touching at times. It's one of those films where you will laugh through tears.

Spy

The film stars Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, Miranda Hart, Bobby Cannavale, Allison Janney and Jude Law. The story follows Susan Cooper (McCarthy), an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, who suddenly finds herself in the field after her boss (Law) dies in suspicious circumstances. Working with her unlikely partner Bradley Fine (Statham), she must race against time to track down the rogue agent thought to be responsible for carrying out this crime.

Star Trek Beyond

This movie is about a group of astronauts who are on their way to a research station when they are attacked by an unknown force. They crash-land on a nearby planet and must figure out how to get home. The plot seems very typical for an outer space story, but it has a lot of funny moments throughout the movie. Star Trek Beyond is rated PG-13, so there's some violence, but it's not intense or graphic.
