The Best Singer in Pakistan and India: A Comparison

Bollywood and Pakistan’s music industries are often compared to each other, so it’s easy to forget that they have plenty of stars who are famous in only one of these countries or the other. In this comparison article, we’ll be looking at five singers in particular and breaking down why they might be more popular in one country than another. Here we go!

Let’s Compare Lyrics

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is arguably the most influential singer of Pakistan. He was born in 1948 in a small town of Lyallpur, now known as Faisalabad, which lies near the Indian border. His fame grew when he performed with Ustad Dilshad Khan. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is famous for his Qawwali style, which is a form of Sufi devotional music that originated in South Asia. The word Qawwali means to remember or to invite people to remember God. The tradition usually involves a group of musicians led by one or more singers who recite and sing spiritual poetry accompanied by traditional instruments such as Dholak, Tabla, Harmonium or Sitar. The poet-singer uses an oral composition technique called khyaal that has been handed down from the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Khyaal is also used by Nazrul Islam, who was born on October 10th 1913 in British India and died on August 16th 1976. Nazrul Islam’s compositions reflect Bengali nationalism.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan primarily sings in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Tamil and Persian while Nazrul Islam only sings in Bengali.

Let’s Look at the Music Video Production

In this music video, the singer is seen performing on a stage set up with a dance floor. The audience is made up of mostly women and children with a few men scattered throughout. The song lyrics are projected on the screen behind the performer as he performs. Though there are no dancers, a live drummer can be seen playing along to the music. The video has been shot from an aerial angle which gives it an intimate feeling as if you are looking down on this small venue from above. Throughout the video we see quick shots of various close-ups on people’s faces and different groupings singing and dancing. With the sound quality in mind, this particular production would not work for mainstream pop or hip hop songs that rely heavily on heavy bass beats but would instead work well for folk rock, traditional Indian melodies or jazz tunes.

Let’s Compare Image Portrayals

In the last two years, there have been many heated debates about who is the best singer between Pakistani singer Atif Aslam and Indian singer Sonu Nigam. Some people say that Sonu Nigam has a better voice because he can sing anything whereas Atif Aslam doesn't have as good of a range. Others say that Atif Aslam is a much better singer because he sings Punjabi songs which are very difficult to sing. They also argue that Sonu Nigam's Hindi songs are easy to perform while it takes more skill to sing Punjabi songs. One thing we all agree on is that both singers are very talented and their voices are like magic to our ears! There's always going to be a winner when comparing these two singers but I think they should collaborate with each other so that we can hear them singing together. That would be awesome!

Let’s Compare Sales Records

One of the best way to compare two singers is by looking at their sales records. We took a look at their Billboard 200 albums and found that, so far, Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has sold the most albums. His song Tum Hi Ho has been streamed more than 18 million times on Spotify. Indian singer Tulsi Kumar has sold more songs than any other female artist this year but her album hasn't been as popular as Tum Hi Ho. There are many different ways to measure who is the better singer, but it's worth noting that these artists have had different levels of success with different audiences. In this sense, there really isn't one clear answer for which country has better singers. The point we're trying to make is that both countries produce amazing talent! Both countries are known for producing some of the best singers in all of Asia. So what's your favorite singer? Do you think they deserve recognition from their home country? Is there an artist you would like us to compare next week? Let us know below!

Finally, the Final Judgement

Both Zayn Malik of One Direction and the Indian sensation, Adnan Sami, are incredible singers. But when it comes to the best singer from India or the best singer from Pakistan, my vote goes to both! They both have equally great qualities, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be hard because they're so different.

But while I can't decide who has the better voice, I can still rank them by genre preference: Adnan Sami is definitely a better pop singer than Zayn Malik! And although he's more well-known in India, he also has strong success over here! So while they're both amazing singers, they each have their strengths and weaknesses. In conclusion, you really can't go wrong with either choice for the best singer from India or the best singer from Pakistan! If you want someone that sounds like Justin Timberlake (who was from Tennessee) and sings poppy tunes, then Adnan Sami is your guy. On the other hand, if you want someone who sings about his emotions and might even throw in some rap into his songs, then Zayn Malik is your guy!
