Nanne Varuven - A Full Movie Review

After a three-year-long wait, the much-awaited movie Nanne Varuven by director Saran has finally been released. The film stars Simbu in the lead role, with Pasupathy, Janani Iyer, Parthiban and YG Mahendra among others in the supporting cast. Nanne Varuven’s story revolves around the relationship between a father and his son, and how an unexpected turn of events changes it forever...

The review

It was a great movie and I would recommend it to anyone who likes drama films. It has a lot of suspenseful moments and the ending is amazing. The director did an excellent job with this film. There were not any slow parts in the movie at all, which made it more intense and kept my interest. There were so many twists that I didn't see coming, but they still made sense when they happened. The cinematography was also good because there were multiple close-ups on certain characters, but not too many that we couldn't follow what's going on in the scene. Another thing I liked about the film is how well the background music tied in with what was happening during the scenes. Overall, it's an amazing movie and worth seeing!

Plot summary

The movie starts off with a small child, Nanne, and her family. The mother is pregnant and the father has just been killed in a car accident. She spends some time living with her grandparents before she moves back to her mom's house.

The story then jumps to Nanne as an adult who is now married and has two children of her own. Her husband gets a job offer on the other side of the country, so they move across country to start their lives over again. When they get there, they find that things aren't as good as advertised, but are still trying to make it work when her daughter has a near-fatal accident. When she finally decides that it would be best for everyone if they moved back home, Nanne's son steps in and says he wants them to stay because he likes it there better than at home. They end up staying where they are because of him and things turn around for the better.

Acting in the film

While the acting is not as great as some of the Bollywood films I have seen, it was still enjoyable to watch. The movie was a good mix of action and comedy and it was easy to empathize with the characters. The film does stray from what you would traditionally see in Indian movies with a lot of slapstick humor and over-the-top actions scenes. All in all, this is an entertaining film that is worth watching at least once if you're looking for a lighthearted movie. It's safe to say it won't change your life, but then again, can any movie? That said, Nanne Varuvne will make you laugh, cheer on its heros and leave feeling like a little kid waiting to jump into bed after watching their favorite animated Disney film. I'm going to rate Nanne Varuvne 7 out of 10 because the plot is predictable, though there are enough twists to keep me interested. I recommend you see this one when it comes out on DVD!

Director's point of view

I have been a fan of Nanne varuvne for quite some time, and I was very excited to see the movie for myself. I really enjoyed the story, but felt that the pacing slowed at times. However, there was something about this movie that made me want to keep watching it until the end. I would recommend seeing it in theaters if you're able to because there are a few unique scenes with sound and visuals that will only be experienced on the big screen. The cast is excellent and has amazing chemistry together, which is important in a film where they share so much screen time together. All-in-all, I think Nanne varuvne is worth checking out! It's not perfect, but it's enjoyable and has a lot of heart. The finale left me wanting more though, which leads me to believe that maybe this wasn't the final installment in their series.

Other factors

Nanne Varuvne is a 2016 Indian Malayalam film directed by Jayaraj Vijay and written by Udayakrishna. Based off of the award-winning novel written by Kakkanadan, the movie stars Renji Panicker, Madhu Warrier and KPAC Lalitha as the main leads. The story is about Nannekurup family who have been living in Mumbai for generations and are now being forced to return to their homeland in Kerala. Along with them, two sisters also return home with their families. One has a son and daughter while the other only has her daughter. These two families start out on rocky terms with each other but eventually end up as one big happy family that stays together through all sorts of trials and tribulations. The acting was very believable and realistic which really brought me into the world of Nanne Varuvne. It is such an inspirational story about how our past does not dictate our future, no matter what obstacles we face. I highly recommend this heartfelt drama from India!
