Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen, Denmark to the Kannada film actor Prakash Padukone and his wife Ujjala. When she was two, her family moved back to Bangalore and it was there that she pursued a career in acting. Her first role was at age 10 when she played as young Anjali Rao/Jhilmil Chatterjee in Chokher Bali (2007). She made her Hindi film debut with Student of the Year (2012) for which she received critical acclaim as well as winning awards such as Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and IIFA Award for Best Female Debut. The actress also acted in major Hollywood films including xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017), Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013), The Sky Is Pink(2019) and Suicide Squad(2016). If a movie does not have a good story or is about an issue she does not agree with, then Deepika will not act in it. For example, Padukone did not want to be part of The Legend of Tarzan because it was disrespectful to animals; so she turned down the role.
